Phil started playing bass at 16, and at 19 he fell in with local rock band Sleepless. Sleepless had some success, with headlining gigs at prestigious London venues such as The Clapham Grand, the clubs Sound and Storm in Leicester Square, and Cafe De Paris for a film promotion party. They also achieved 3rd place in a Southern England BOTB contest, local and national radio airplay and numerous reviews in the smaller music magazines. The music is currently being used by an Australian theatrical company as the backing to a touring production.

Since Sleepless, Phil has played in many bands in the south, with every level of musician from Pros who frequently appear on film and TV scores through to local pub bands. He has supported members of The Who, Small Faces, Bad Company, Foreigner, Eric Claptons Band and The Jam, and played to crowds of thousands at festivals, biker rallies and charity events.

Phil is working hard to break into the West End session scene, and has sat in with some of londons top session players at shows like Dirty Dancing and Mamma Mia.

Phils dedication and enthusiasm has put him in high regard with everyone who has worked with him, and he is keen to help anybody of any age and any level achieve their goals on Bass.
